How Do You Choose a Business Card Style?

I’ve had four different business cards made for my own businesses over the years. It’s time for a refresh, if for no other reason than that I don’t own most of those websites anymore. They’re in other hands now, and it’s time to think about the future. But what to choose? There are so many options.

Yet Another Excuse to Gaze at Eye Candy

Webdesignerdepot.com did a post recently showcasing fifty examples of business card designs. Some great ones in there. So I’ve selected my top ten to show you here. Each of these catches my eye to the point that I may use their strengths when creating cards of my own.

Size and Shape are Essential

I’ve been handed everything from circular to 3D thick to keychain to standup table menu. No thanks. If I can’t fit your card into my card holder, your card will end up somewhere else… and that means somewhere I won’t revisit.

Yes, it’s funky, memorable, and cool to have weird shapes and sizes. It’s also impractical and, wait for it… useless. Make your business cards useful, please. Otherwise, I might never think of you again. And that would be a shame and waste of all that creative talent, wouldn’t it?
